APTMA lauds Pakistan government but urges for more initiatives for cotton farmers

The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, better known as APTMA, has called on the Government to ensure less input cost for country’s cotton farmers.

The Association, while appreciating the efforts of the new government, also urged them to expedite the provision of quality cotton seeds and extension services to its farmers.

Corroborating on the same, Syed Ali Ahsan, Chairman, APTMA and Gohar Ejaz, Patron-In-Chief applauded Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for his efforts and initiatives to achieve 15 million cotton bales by the end of 2019.

He further added that due to this slump, the industry had to import cotton.

The cotton import, therefore, reached 3.59 bales worth US $ 1.22 billion in 2018.
