The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association, or APTMA, has suggested setting up of special line of credit from China for forming joint ventures with Chinese apparel companies under ‘pay as you earn’ scheme on buying back basis.

These views were shared by APTMA Punjab Chairman Adil Bashir recently. He further added that the above proposal would encourage investment in the country and promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and China.

The Chairman was addressing a delegation from China that represented China Council for the Promotion of International Trade as well as the Office of International Trade of China National Textile and Apparel Council.

The delegation visited APTMA Punjab on 13 November 2018.

The APTMA Punjab Chairman also proposed the opening of single window facility for prospective investors and also having a video-linked forum to quash language constraints.

He also added that the new Government of Pakistan was committed to setting up special economic zones and also had the vision of building a garment city.
