Italian luxury fashion house Dolce and Gabbana has become the first luxury fashion brand to introduce a plus-size collection for women by extending its size range to 20 (22 in the UK and 54 in Europe).

The size range extension is an inclusive move on the part of the brand and has gained much recognition in the fashion apparel industry and among the new customers who can now avail the plus-size collection.

The size extension range comes with the pre-fall collection and includes D&G’s classic floral skirts, lace shifts, figure hugging dresses and more.

Being the first luxury fashion house to do so, Dolce and Gabbana expects not only consumer satisfaction but also a wider consumer reach with now catering to the plus-size women.

In a news interview, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stated “Extending our clothing size range is a tribute to women, to feminine body shapes and to beauty in its entirety… For us, it was natural to extend the size of some clothes of our collections: we have always loved the female silhouette in every size and shape.”

Dolce and Gabbana looks forward to working with plus-size models to advertise its collection.
