In a bid to boost its apparel and accessories sales, American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson has decided to team up with the global leading e-commerce player Amazon to offer its merchandise on the e-retailer’s marketplace.
Notably, the brand wants to leverage on the vast reach that Amazon has, making it one of the leading online retailers in the market. Previously, the brand used to sell its clothing and accessories only on its exclusive website.
Heather Malenshek, Senior VP, Marketing & Brand, Harley Davidson said joining hands with a leading e-commerce brand like Amazon will provide the company an unmatched gateway towards creating a stronger relationship with its customers.
“We have an opportunity on Amazon to showcase our brand, to grow reach, relevance and access and eventually open up the possibilities to bring on board fresh shoppers into our Harley-Davidson family and boost our customer base,” Heather said.
Furthermore, the brand is also focusing on millennials, as a major focus for the brand’s future ventures.
Reportedly, the move to turn to Amazon came in line with the brand’s strategy to provide its offerings to the younger generation of shoppers, who tends to shop online rather than visiting an offline retail store.
Earlier this year, the brand announced to launch 8-12 exclusive outlets offering merchandises in western and northern parts of India by the end of this year, targeting to extend its presence in the country.
