H One, a Sri Lanka-based IT arm of Hirdaramani Group, has made its machine management solution Res.Q|MI commercially available. The software is said to be designed for both large and small-scale apparel manufacturing factories in industry.
Res.Q|MI is a cloud based solution which leverages the capabilities of NFC (Near Field Communication) technology for the management, protection, and maintenance of sewing machinery which are vital equipment for garment manufacturing.
It is a common practice in the apparel industry to install machines in factories which are taken on a ‘loan’ or ‘rental’ basis but the industry always lacked and efficient mode of automating or optimising these processes to efficiently monitor these movements of sewing machine exchange between a factory and a supplier.
“As a result of poor asset management, the production facility is at risk of incurring phenomenal expenses, effectively holding back the entire business with this loss. Res.Q|MI is designed specifically to cater to such scenarios in any factory environment; facilitating the easy tracking of machinery -with just a click of a button- irrespective of where the machine is located at the time,” informs H One.
Each sewing machine will be assigned a specific uniquely identifiable NFC tag which contains information, from the machine’s unique ID, its transaction history, break downs and service records. With the launched solution, the factories will be able to work upon the defects quickly and save tremendous amount of time, money and resources.
Furthermore, the live data tracking module of the software can motivate the employees so as to improve and produce better results in the future. Staying on the same subject, in an interaction with Apparel Resources a few months back, Samath Fernando, CEO, H One mentioned, “With RES.Q, we aim to uplift the workforce and make them feel respected in the industry. Exposure to smart technology and certification paths will add great value to their careers”.
