PVH Corp, US based apparel giant, has become the first company that has committed to use How2Recycle labels, on its packaging.

How2Recycle started back in 2008 as a project of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. It is a standardized labelling system that apparently communicates recycling instructions to the public. Today, H2R claims to be on a mission to take the guesswork out of recycling by creating a clear, well understood as well as nationally harmonised label that enables brands to convey consumers on how to recycle a package.

Every label is based on the best availability of recycling data available along with the critical technical insights from Association of Plastic Recyclers, Recycled Paperboard Alliance and other industry experts. Furthermore, it claims to be the only recycling label system which is designed to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s Guidelines for Environmental Marketing Claims, and the first recycling labelling system in the US designed for consumers.
