The third edition of Denimsandjeans India begins on 17 July in Bengaluru, hosting 40 companies from the Indian denim supply chain.
Adding to this will be several reputed companies from across the border, besides including countries like Bangladesh, Turkey, Far East, the US and many from Europe. The 2-day event will also feature many interesting seminars by global experts.
Themed as ‘Resurgent India,’ the event recognises India’s growth as a booming retail market and as a promising sourcing destination.
“India is currently the fastest growing large economy globally and is expected to grow over 8 per cent per annum till 2025. The country has been changing structurally in the recent years and though, on the one hand, it has caused some disturbance, on the other there have been rectifications in the structure of the industry which has created very positive outlook for the country. Middle class is growing at 19 per cent per annum adding a large number of consumers to the market. Over 300 international brands are expected to set up base in India in next 3 years. Besides, the manufacturing in apparels and textiles is expected to grow phenomenally and this is the reason over 41 per cent global procurement officers of top retailers say that they will increase their sourcing from India,” the fair organisers said.
This edition will also boast of a special ‘Indigo Festival’ that will focus on the various traditional indigo dyeing and printing techniques hailing from different parts of the country. Artisans from Rajasthan, Gujarat, etc. will conduct workshops to showcase the arts they have been practising since several generations. A unique selvedge denim wall at Denimsandjeans Bangalore by Arvind and Raymond will also be there at the event.
“Made with rolls of selvedge denim from Raymond and Arvind Limited, the wall will greet visitors in the registration area. Experts from Korra Jeans, who specialise in creating customised jeans specially selvedges, will help create customised selvedge jeans for those who love selvedges. Limited number of customers will be catered to on first come, first served basis at highly subsidised rates and can select fabric from the wall and get their measurements done. The jeans customised to their fit will be sent by Korra to customers after stitching. This will be a unique opportunity to have a selvedge jeans to own fit,” organisers said.
