William-Sonoma with Reliance Brands Limited to tap Indian Market

US based retailer Wiliam-Sonoma has collaborated with Reliance Brands Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited and plans to bring brands including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm to India through a franchise agreement. The brand will open its first store in Mumbai in early 2020 and will also launch the e-commerce websites.

Laura Alber, President and Chief Executive Officer, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. said, “ We are excited to partner with Reliance as part of our continued global expansion and looking forward to opening our first stores in Mumbai as well as introducing our distinctive brands, excellent customer service, and exceptional products to customers in India.”

The American Retailer has retail and franchise stores across the world and company owned stores in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. The franchise network includes countries throughout the Middle East, South Korea, Philippines as well as Mexico.
